Steve Jobs Dies At 56

Founder and chairman of Apple Steve Jobs has passed away at 56. A creative genius and visionary icon are words often used to describe him. The revolution he made to modern technology is incomparable. Apple’s iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes were created under his direction.

In 2004, he was diagnosed with an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, where he had to get a liver transplant in 2009. On August 24, 2011, he stepped down as Apple’s chief executive due to his failing health. Earlier today, October 5, 2011, Apple’s board of directors released a statement saying Jobs had died of pancreatic cancer.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” read a statement by Apple’s board of directors. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”

He is survived by his wife Laurene, their three children and a fourth child from a previous relationship.

It’s pretty dope to watch a pop star on the rise, not just any popstar though…we’re talking Willow Smith, the ten-year old wiz kid who burst onto the scene with “Whip My Hair”, a 2010 infectious party jam. As if her first and last name weren’t enough, Smith adds a few hyphens to her name like actress, singer, dancer and songwriter-the latter being the focus of a recently-surfaced clip.

Smith is shown studying ballet, a favorite pastime of hers and cooking up her first self-written song in the presence of astonished producers. The track called, “The Epiphany“, sees Smith showing off her vocal, songwriting and music finesse. She sparks conversation, presents ideas and energetically puts her all into creating a work of art in the studio footage.

Fabolous Ray-J Fight

Last night, Ray-J and Fabolous got into a physical fight shortly after Fabolous performed at the Palms casino in Las Vegas. The news of the fight was splattered all over Twitter.

This morning, Ray-J called into The Breakfast Club to give his side of the story. Apparently, the altercation arose from Fab’s recent tweets bout Ray-J singing “One Wish” in Floyd Mayweather‘s living room on an HBO special. Reports say that 50 Cent, who was in attendance, instigated the majority of the fight by heckling and it apparently worked on Ray-J. Ray-J says that it was a matter of disrespect and somehow ends up talking about pulling his “whips and cribs” out.

T.I. Released From Prison, Again… + Genius Links

By: | September 16th, 2011
T I Released

TMZ reports,

T.I. has just returned to a halfway house to complete his prison sentence — this after he was yanked out of the halfway house last week and returned to prison for allegedly engaging in shenanigans on his tour bus.
As TMZ first reported, prison officials sent U.S. Marshals to the halfway house last week, after concluding T.I. had unauthorized people on the bus that transported him there. Officials also claimed T.I. conducted business on the bus — something his reps strongly deny.
T.I.’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ, “We have good reason to believe that this favorable result was reached because of the proactive and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing B.O.P. officials and the media with reliable and accurate information and that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other B.O.P. rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta.”
Sadow adds, “T.I. will be released from custody on Sept. 29, and then will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for a period of 1 year.”

We Remember 9/11.

By: | September 11th, 2011
Tribute Of Light 1

On September 11, 2001, hearts were shattered and tears pierced the cheeks of American faces, as we witnessed the devastation of terrorist attacks that turned the American dream into a nightmare. Roughly 2,800 lost their lives in the tragedy, clouding our blue skies. Ten years later, as we try to ease our nation’s pain instead of forgetting our past, we remember…with a Tribute In Light.

A team of 30 lighting specialists have been working around the clock to ensure the art installation is ready for tomorrow, when it will be switched on from dusk until dawn. Shooting high into the night, the Twin Towers rise above New York again as sparkling pillars of light, organized by the Municipal Art Society. The memorial is set in the footprints of the original twin towers among a small forest of oak trees in an eight-acre plaza.

Look below for pictures of the spectacle to take place on Sunday…
